This set contains materials relating to The Burglar With the Yellow Hand, a stop motion animated short funded by the IdeasTap Ideas Fund Innovators brief. This darkly humorous, symbolic short film celebrates the creative power of art, struggling against its commercialization in the modern world. A burglar is about to steal a painting from a museum when he sees that some yellow paint has stained his glove. He imagines he has acquired the mythical Midas’ Touch, but the things he touches transform into beautiful art objects rather than gold, invading his black-and-white world with vivid colour. Attempting to escape, the burglar is himself transformed into a beautiful statue.
